Robert M. Higgins Selected to Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly Hall of Fame

Lubin & Meyer partner Robert M. Higgins has been selected for induction into the Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly Hall of Fame, one of the Commonwealth's highest honors recognizing attorneys and justices whose careers have exemplified exceptional achievement, leadership, and service to the legal profession.
Higgins' induction continues Lubin & Meyer's longstanding tradition of excellence, as he joins firm founder Andrew C. Meyer, Jr., who is a member of the inaugural Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly Hall of Fame class.
Now in its fourth year, the hall honors a select group of attorneys who have practiced law for 30 years or more and whose careers have shaped the law, strengthened the legal profession, and advanced the pursuit of justice across Massachusetts. Inductees are selected based on their career accomplishments, contributions to the development of the law, service to the bar, and efforts to improve the quality of justice throughout the Commonwealth.
Meyer said, “Over the course of his career, Rob has distinguished himself as one of Massachusetts' premier trial lawyers and one of the nation's leading advocates for victims of medical negligence. He has devoted his career to representing patients and families whose lives have been forever changed by preventable medical errors.”

Higgins has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars on behalf of injured clients and their families, including the largest medical malpractice verdict in Massachusetts history, a $40 million award for a baby who suffered a catastrophic brain injury at birth. His record includes numerous landmark verdicts and settlements involving delayed cancer diagnoses, birth injuries, emergency room negligence, surgical errors, and other catastrophic failures in medical care, establishing him as one of the most accomplished medical malpractice trial attorneys in Massachusetts, while reinforcing standards of care that benefit patients across the Commonwealth and beyond.
Higgins’ distinguished career has earned him many of the legal profession's highest honors. He was named "Lawyer of the Year" in Medical Malpractice Law for 2025 by Best Lawyers® and has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® for 18 consecutive years. He has also been recognized among the Top 10 Massachusetts Super Lawyers and Top 100 Super Lawyers, and has consistently earned Martindale-Hubbell's AV Preeminent rating, reflecting the highest standards of legal ability and professional ethics.
Higgins will be formally inducted during the Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly Hall of Fame ceremony on September 15, 2026, joining a distinguished group of attorneys whose careers have helped shape the law and strengthen the pursuit of justice in Massachusetts.
